Advent Liturgy

It’s the second week of advent. Here’s a little piece I wrote to try to express the significance of advent. I’d love to hear some feedback and any suggestions you may have.

Advent.

Advent is a season

Of anxious anticipation

Of eager expectation

Of yearning for a better tomorrow.

Advent.

Advent is preparation for the One to come.

The Messiah.

The New Son of David.

The Prince of Peace.

Advent.

Advent is

The fulfillment of suspended promises,

The emergence of a new way of life,

The reason for hope.

Advent.

Advent is the processional entrance of

The Savior.

The Suffering Servant.

The Anointed One.

Advent.

Advent is where a new world is imagined.

A world of

Restoration.

Reconciliation.

Rebirth.

Advent.

Advent is a flicker of light dancing in the darkness.

In the most unexpected of places.

In Bethlehem.

In a manger.

Advent.

Advent is Immanuel.

God with us.

God encapsulated in flesh and bone.

God and human as one.

Advent.

Advent is here.

GOD

IS

HERE.

    I like it!

Hey nice change at the end there. I’ll see what I can do about reading this back home. My goal is to speak in chapel ten times next semester but only works from you, so keep it up.
